Department of Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather
Our associate degree program, which has been training the qualified intermediate staff needed by the Textile and Ready-to-Wear Industry by providing academic and professional competencies for more than 30 years, started education in 1990 depending upon İnönü University. Our department, which continues its education in the Vocational School of Technical Sciences, within Adıyaman University, which has been established in our province since 2006, continued education in Textile Technology in the daytime education program and in the Garment Production Technology in the evening education program until 2012-2013 academic year. It has been continuing education in the Clothing Production Technology Program under the Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather Department since 2012-2013 academic year.
Mission & Vision
The aim of the program; To train "technicians" who are between senior managers and/or engineers and masters / qualified workers and technicians, and have more theoretical knowledge than technicians and more practical skills than engineers. Every student who will study textile in our department; will be able to apply his/her theoretical and practical knowledge, experience, and skills to every step of the processes related to business life and profession. In this context, we aim to train students who are prone to teamwork, sharing and can contribute to the national economy.
Our department, which has very good education and training opportunities in terms of both workshops and classrooms, has a sufficient number of academic staff who are well qualified academically. Our department, which provides education in the workshops equipped with various machinery and equipment in the building belonging to Vocational School of Technical Sciences in the University campus in Adıyaman/Center and with the curriculum that is constantly revised in line with the needs and demands of the ready-to-wear enterprises, is located where the best transportation, physical and social facilities can be provided.
Our province, when evaluated with the provinces of the region, is in a very good condition in terms of industry, especially the textile industry. Under these circumstances, our students, who will graduate, have the opportunity to be employed here. Especially in the recent period, within the scope of the development movement in our country, our province has received investment support with a very serious share and since SMEs have been given this support to a large extent, students graduated from our Clothing Production Technology program, which has a wide professional scope, can easily work in the related fields of SMEs. Graduates of the program, in line with the qualifications they gained with the title of Ready-to-Wear Technician can work in both public and private sectors and even establish their own workplace. Ready-to-Wear Technicians have employment opportunities in departments such as mid-level managers, customer representation, quality control, planning, design, modelshop in related branches of the Textile and Apparel Industry, as well as in the production lines and training departments of enterprises. If they want, they can become qualified instructors in Public education centers. Graduates can find lateral and vertical transfer opportunities in line with the relevant legislation of Counsil of Higher Education. They can also become bachelor by transferring to open education departments or by getting into the relevant faculties. In addition, our students will be able to do the internship work they need to do during the education process easily in SMEs that serve mostly in the industrial environment.
